Category B Notifiable Non-Licensed Work Training Course

By Licensed Specialists

The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 include the requirement for training employees who work or disturb asbestos, referred to as non-licensable asbestos work or minor works.

What is A (Cat B) Non-Licensed Asbestos Training Course?

Fibre Safe’s Category B Asbestos Training Non-Licensed Removal training course focuses on how to safely remove low risk asbestos when you cannot complete the necessary work without disturbing asbestos. This typically requires the removal of Asbestos Containing Materials or (ACMs), which falls under non-licensed removal of asbestos.

The course will demonstrate and clarify the correct control measures required to stop the spread of asbestos and contain the fibres during this type of work. Please be aware that the Health and Safety Executive clearly state that the proper training should be given to any employee carrying out these kinds of tasks and that asbestos awareness would not be sufficient to remove asbestos.

Who Is it For?

Who is a notifiable non-licensed work asbestos training course for?

Persons requiring CAT B training would include those whose work will knowingly disturb ACMs. For example, plumbers, carpenters, electricians, maintenance and demolition workers.

(Course is for a maximum of 12 people)

What Does (Cat B) Asbestos Training Include?

What does non-licensed work training include?

We created a tailor made course to enable your staff to safely remove or work on non-licensable asbestos materials both notifiable and non-notifiable.

The course is presented by experienced members of the asbestos industry and not general health & safety consultants.

We are always able to answer any technical or industry specific questions that arise during training, and where necessary give a practical demonstration of any techniques needed or industry knowledge required.

Why Is Asbestos Training Important?

There is still a worrying number of companies that do not understand the legalities of working with or handling of asbestos containing materials. Clients need to be clear enough to make educated decisions on scenarios that involve the material, and the potential hazards should be considered at the forefront of those decisions. There is no better way to garner a good knowledge base on how best to handle asbestos than one of our Fibre Safe asbestos training courses.
