Identifying Abestos in your Home

It is possible that any house built before the year 2000 may contain asbestos but the risk is greatly increased in houses built between 1950 and 1980. Over the years we have found asbestos in the strangest of places and of course the more mundane and easily identifiable.

The main places that asbestos is found in domestic properties are:

  • Rainwater pipes
  • Soffits / fascia
  • Garage and shed roofs
  • Internal partition walls
  • Bath panels
  • Central heating flues
  • Floor tiles
  • Insulation panels in some storage heaters

  • Toilet cisterns
  • Artex
